 In the Philippines, Globe and Smart started supporting eSIM to compatible devices for both prepaid and postpaid subscribers. For now, Smart users can upgrade their physical to eSIM without changing their mobile number while Globe is still working to make it possible.

The known benefits of using eSIM are your security and convenience. There's no longer a physical SIM card inserted as eSIM is an embedded chip within your phone. It is designed to secure your network data with more advanced encryption features. It also reduces the risk and fear of your data being used for fraudulent and criminal activities as you can easily deactivate it remotely.

You can also easily switch networks without the need to buy a new physical SIM, especially for travelers abroad who need to use the destination's mobile carrier services (e.g. call, text, and data promos). 

eSIM Compatible Phones in Philippines

Unfortunately, not all smartphones are eSIM compatible. That is why we have compiled this list of device models that have this feature.

You can also check if your phone supports eSIM by going to Settings.

For iPhone or iOS users:

Go to Settings. select "Cellular" and you can see the option "Add eSIM".

For Android users:

Go to Settings, select "About Phone" then tap "Status". You can also search "eSIM" via the settings search bar or look for "EID" in "About Phone".

For Globe users:

You check if your phone is eSIM compatible by installing the GlobeOne app. Go to the "Essentials" tab and then tap "Prepaid eSIM". It will automatically check if your phone is compatible with eSIM.

How to Activate Smart eSIM

After you purchase Smart eSIM via Smart Store, Lazada, Shopee and other online stores. It only cost ₱99.00. You have to provide a working email address during purchase, as they will send the eSIM QR code to your email.

To activate:

1. Go to your device "Settings", for iPhone/iOS, go to "Cellular" and tap "Setup Cellular". For Android, select SIM Card Manager, and add Mobile Plan/e-SIM. 
2. Scan the QR code and follow the activation process.
3. Register via SMART SIM Registration to activate.

How to Activate Globe eSIM

You can purchase a Globe eSIM via the GlobeOne app for the same price as Smart, only ₱99. They will also send the QR code to your email. 

To activate:

1. Go to your device "Settings", for iPhone/iOS, go to "Cellular" and tap "Setup Cellular". For Android, select SIM Card Manager, and add Mobile Plan/e-SIM. 
2. Scan the QR code to add and confirm.
3. Once done, your eSIM will be displayed in your settings along with your mobile number.

Tip: Check your spam folder if you cannot find the QR code on your email.
