Existing Sun Cellular prepaid and postpaid subscribers are required to register their respective SIM cards with Smart’s online registration web portal. As required by the Republic Act 11934 or the SIM Card Registration Act in the Philippines, all individuals both local and foreign needs to register their correct personal information such as name, address, valid ID’s, and photo to respective Telco’s.
Failure to comply after the deadline will cause your SIM card or eSIM deactivated automatically. With that, you can no longer use the SIM card for calls, texts, data, and other Sun Cellular or Smart network services. The registration already started last December 27, 2022, and will end April 26, 2023.
Sun Cellular SIM Card Online Registration
Prior to registration, you must prepare and take a picture of (1) a valid ID and a good internet or data connection to avoid difficulties and processing errors such as “Bad Gateway”, “Null”, “Too many requests” and other related problems. See the list of ID requirements.
How to Register Sun Cellular SIM Card Online
- Turn on your device's mobile data (You can access the online portal free of charge.)
- Open your web browser app (e.g. Google Chrome or Firefox) then go to the Smart SIM registration link by entering simreg.smart.com.ph in the URL address bar.
- Enter your 10-digit Sun Cellular (prepaid or postpaid) mobile number (Example: 9221234567), tick the checkbox to agree to Smart's Terms & Conditions and Privacy Notice
- Tap the "Send OTP" button to receive an OTP (One Time PIN) code via SMS.
- Input the 6-digit OTP code on the online SIM registration portal field, and then click the "Verify OTP" button. (Please note that the OTP code expires in five minutes, you can request for another one in case you didn’t receive it)
- After successful verification, you need to fill in the "Customer Information" page.
- Select the Type of Registration. Tap on the "ID Card" and then select the type of ID you want to upload from the drop-down menu. Upload a photo or scanned copy of your ID card and a selfie to confirm your identity. (Make sure it is PNG or JPG format and must be less that 5MB file size). Continue filling up your personal details, including ID Card Number, Name, Birthday, Sex, and Nationality to complete.
- Tap the "Next" button to proceed on the Address Information page.
- Enter the correct address that matches the address on your valid ID. You can also input an alternate mobile phone number or email address for validation purposes.
- Tap the "Next" button to proceed to the “Summary” page. Make sure to review all the details before going to the next step.
- Tick the checkbox to certify that all the information you have provided are correct, accurate, and true. Optional, if you wish to receive customized offers from Sun Cellular or Smart, you can also check the second box.
- Lastly, click the "Next" button to complete and finish your SIM card registration process.
The next page is a thank you message from Sun/Smart with the status of your registration and the reference or control number. Please do a screenshot or save the number for future reference. Smart / Sun Cellular is also giving free 3GB data after your successful SIM card registration.
SIM Card Registration ID requirements
You must have at least (1) ID that you can use during the SIM card registration process. Make sure to provide valid and correct ID’s or you will face six (6) months to two (2) years in prison or a fine between PHP 100,000 and PHP 300,000, or both.

- GSIS e-Card
- Driver's license
- NBI Clearance
- Police Clearance
- Firearms' License to Own and Possess ID
- PRC ID
- Integrated Bar of the Philippines ID
- Overseas Workers Welfare Administration ID
- BIR ID (TIN)
- Voter's ID
- Senior Citizen's card
- UMID
- Persons with Disabilities card (PWD ID card)
- Other valid government-issued ID with a photo
You can register more than one Sun Cellular SIM card under your name. All you have to do is follow the same process for each one of them. For minors (below 18 years old) SIM registration, they shall be registered under the name of the parent or legal guardian with an ID card and the consent of their parent or guardian.
