Are you using DITO? In compliance with SIM Card Registration Act RA No. 11934, you must register your DITO SIM (Subscriber Identity/Identification Module) starting December 27, 2022, up to April 26, 2023. Existing and new subscribers are required to follow the rules to avoid the automatic deactivation of their SIM cards. The law will help combat online scams, cybercrimes, and other related illegal activities that uses mobile network services (e.g call, texts, and data).
DITO SIM Registration
The online DITO SIM card registration is FREE and easy. You can also register multiple or more than one SIM card under your name as long as you follow the step-by-step how-to register procedure below. Here are our quick tips before you start, take a clear photo of your valid ID and a selfie photo holding the valid ID then save it on your phone gallery. Make sure you install and updated your DITO app and does have a good internet connection before you start accessing the URL. Please DO NOT click any link or shortened URL that is not from the official DITO website and social media pages.
How to Register DITO SIM
- Open the DITO app
- Click the “SIM Registration” icon or banner. (see the above screenshot)
- In the DITO SIM registration link, fill in Customer Information (Identity Type, Mobile Number, First Name, Middle Name, Surname, Date of Birth, House Number, Street, Province, City, and Barangay, and Zip Code).
- Under Identification Card (Image, jpg, pdf), attach (1) one valid government ID. (Browse it on your phone Gallery)
- Under User Photo (Image), upload your selfie photo holding the valid ID. (Browse it on your phone Gallery).
- Next, tap the “GET OTP” button to receive the One-Time Password. You will receive and SMS containing the authentication code or OTP. (Make sure you enter the correct mobile number in step No.3)
- Enter the OTP under the “Mobile Number Verification” field.
- Tick the boxes declaring the information entered are true and correct, as well as the DITO’s Data Privacy Statement.
- Click the “SUBMIT” button to complete the registration process.
That is it! On the next page is a notification that says “SIM card registration has been completed. For new subscribers, your SIM card will be activated shortly. Please take a screenshot of this page for your reference.” It also includes the SIM registration number.
Other Registration requirements
For minors
- The SIM card should be registered under the parent/legal guardian's name along with:
- Any government-issued ID of the parent or guardian
- Consent of the minor's parent or guardian to register the SIM card
For businesses
- SEC / DTI Certificate of Registration
- Board Resolution designating the authorized representative or a Special Power of Attorney (SPA)
For tourists
- Passport
- Proof of Address in the Philippines
- Return ticket to own country showing date/time of departure from the Philippines
For foreigners with non-tourist visa
- Passport
- Proof of Address in the Philippines
- Other pertinent documents such as
- Alien Employment Permit issued by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE);
- Alien Certificate of Registration Identification Card (ACRI Card) issued by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) or other types of official ID issued by any other visa-issuing agency;
- School registration and ID for students; or
- For Persons of Concern or POCs, the type of travel or admission document validly issued by the Department of Justice.
