Oneplus recently announced the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G, a successor to last year’s Nord CE 2 that is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor. This new version is now powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC, plus a little more that you expect at an affordable price of Php14,990. Display
It sports a 6.43-inch AMOLED full HD+ display with punch-hole located on the upper left of the screen. The screen features a 90Hz refresh and 180Hz touch sampling rate for a smoother UI experience than the usual standard display specifications. The Gorilla Glass 5 screen protection adds plus points along with HDR10 support.
Design
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G weigh at 173g and measures 7.8mm thick which is the slimmest ever since the OnePlus 6T. There is an in-display fingerprint scanner located on the bottom part of the screen that responsively unlock your phone as soon as you place your finger. The speaker is located at the bottom along with type-C charging port, microphone and 3.5mm audio jack. The power button is located on the right side and on the opposite side is the SIM card tray, volume up and down button. On the top is where the secondary mic located.
Platform
The Nord CE 2 5G runs on Android 11 (OxygenOS 11.3) out of the box and OnePlus offers two Android updates (Android 12/13) along with 3 year of security updates. It is powered by MeidaTek Dimesity 900 5G (6nm) octa-core processor clock at 2.4Ghz with Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, which is a bit powerful than the previous CE.
Camera
The Nord CE 2 5G is equipped triple rear camera, a 64MP main shooter (Omnivision OV64B sensor) with f/1.79 aperture, 8MP ultra wide and 2MP macro lens. It is capable of shooting 4K video at 30fps and you can enable the EIS at 1080p video resolution. The front facing selfie camera is a 16MP with f/2.45 aperture in a Sony IMX471 sensor. You can also shoot 1080p video on its front camera with EIS enabled for smoother video output.
Other camera features includes night mode, filters, portrait, expert mode, ultra HD mode, HRD, panorama, macro, slow motion, time-lapse and dual view video.
