If you want to turn off your wireless network at home or in the office due to a large number of connected users causing your internet to slow down, you can follow the steps below. Instructions on how to do it yourself may vary depending on the router issued to you by PLDT, but mostly, you'll be working on the Wireless tab on the router's web interface to achieve what you want. In this tutorial, I’m using the P-2612HNU-F1F PLDT myDSL model; it’s just a simple click or tick button on the router page, and you’re done.
Enable and Disable PLDT P-2612HNU-F1F WiFi Network
Do note that once you successfully deactivate or disable your wireless network, all connected devices like laptops, smartphones, and tablets will no longer be able to access the internet. Only wired or LAN-connected devices can connect to the internet.
- Open your browser and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar.
- On the PLDT modem login page, type the PLDT default admin credentials. Use ‘adminpldt’ for the username and ‘1234567890’ for the password.
- Go to Network Settings.
- Click on Wireless.
- On the Wireless Network Setup, uncheck to disable and check to enable, then click apply once you're done.
Note that when you enable it, please configure your WiFi password to avoid unauthorized access to your network. You can also hide and unhide your WiFi SSID on the same page.
