basic for beginners on how to connect your Android phone to a Wi-Fi network or Hotspot. You may

Steps on How to Connect your Android Phone to a Wi-Fi network
- On your Android phone Menu , Go to Settings
- On Settings, select Wireless & networks
- On Wireless & network settings, select Wi-Fi settings
- On Wi-Fi settings, if the gray button is not checked it means that your Wi-Fi is turned off. Tap the button to mark check and it will turn your Wi-Fi on.
- Once your Wi-Fi is turned on, all available Wi-Fi networks will display below.
- Select a Wi-Fi network you want to connect, type the password if it is password protected. If it is open network once you tap it you will be prompted to confirm upon connecting.
- To know that you are already connected, you will get a status under Wi-Fi fields like “ Connected to “
That’s it, you can browse to the internet once you’re
connected.
To connect to a hidden Wi-Fi network:
- Just follow the above steps 1-4
- Under Wi-Fi settings, scroll down or look for Add Wi-Fi network on Wi-Fi networks option.
- Type the Wi-Fi SSID or the network name.
- Select Security and type the password.
- Click Save.
That’s it, you can browse to the internet once you’re
connected.
How to Forget a Wi-Fi network:
You can forget a Wi-Fi networks if you don’t want
to connect to that network automatically or if you want to connect to other
network.
- Just follow above steps 1-4.
- Unde Wi-Fi settings, touch and hold the Wi-Fi network name you want to forget.
- A dialog menu will open, select Forget network.
That’s it.
How to connect to Wi-Fi steps for Android 4.X
(ICS) devices.
- On your Android phone Menu , Go to Settings
- On Settings, select Wireless & networks
- Under Wi-Fi switch it to “On”.
- Tap the word “Wi-Fi” not the “on &off” button
- It will scan and display all available Wi-Fi networks.
- Select a Wi-Fi network you want to connect, type the password if it is password protected. If it is open network once you tap it you will be prompted to confirm upon connecting.
That’s it, you can browse to the internet once you’re
connected.
How to Forget a Wi-Fi network:
- Just go to Wi-Fi settings screen, then look for Add Network
- Type the Wi-Fi SSID or the network name.
- Select Security and type the password.
- Click Save.
Tips:
Based on my personal experience connecting to Wi-Fi consumes less battery power than connect to a mobile network. Do note
that when you are not connected to Wi-Fi or mobile network you can turn its
functions off to save battery power.
